A favorite store: Pomme
I love Pomme in Dumbo, a simple, beautiful space that features selected toys, clothes, decor and furniture in a gallery-like loft space. Every time I go there, I get a TON OF inspiration. I always want to come home and get right down to work after that.
Wonderful clothing, sweet interior design, innovative finds, beautiful lighting- there is so much that fills the eye with gentle wonder.
Ava particularly enjoyed the larger than life match boxes with bunnies inside (the match-box was acting like a bed for the bunny, she is holding one above).
If you ever find yourself in Dumbo, Brooklyn, a neighborhood I know very well, please stop by Pomme. You will not be disappointed.
On our way to Pomme, we saw a new sculpture installation- three fish heads sticking out of the ground. (click and scroll down to see the photo). Ava was sleeping at the time, but I totally enjoyed looking at them and pondering the idea behind. I really felt the piece could be conducive to child's play. Not sure if adults can really get that... But if anything, public art is so important and there needs to be even more of it in this city. What exists currently, I absolutely appreciate.
