A surprise for a dear baby friend!

We are planning a little get together with one of baby A's friends- baby B. She was born only three days prior to baby A and I met her mother at our homebirth class in the city. Both babies had their birthdays just last month.
I would like to make baby B a super cute summer dress, or perhaps a hat? I have some light summer fabrics left from my last fun trip to the cool decaying jungle of Soho's fabric stores.

I quickly threw together this combination.

And I want to bring cupcakes... I recently made sour cherry jam (recently?! that was finished last night in the wee hours), so I am going to incorporate its syrup into natural coloring for the frosting for the sour cherry flavor I want to create. I am all about natural, home-made and DIM* and I would love to bring a piece of our home love to our play-time post B-day celebration.
I have to get all of this done pretty much today and somehow get baby A to cooperate, or else... I will be up in the wee hours of the night again.
She is playing with Violet right now so I am going try and sneak past her room to get the fabrics and get some ideas flowing.
... Violet has been exchanged for a breast, and some 15 minutes later baby A is off to hot summer dreamland (I am keeping the AC on low, so it is 80F), and I can get to work. Lately her naps have been incredibly short, and so I better be incredibly fast.

A part of me felt rushed as I would have rather stayed there, baby in lap, smooth sailing together in the lullabies of day dreamfeeding.
