The USA is going through a drought. It is a big one. Despite that my little garden has started to bear vegetables and fruit. A little. However, how easy it is to water a few square feet in the city and how hard must it be without a drop of rain for the huge corn crops of the Midwest. Even here in this little corner of NYC, I can see the signs of drought. But we don't depend on our backyard for our survival. And what if we did? The world is our backyard, and the world is breathing heavily under the pressure of the melting snowcaps. As a mother, I have a lot of questions. What have we done to the Earth? How can we live differently?
